Mission Statement:
To provide the highest level of veterinary care to the equine athlete without sacrificing the one on one interaction with each individual client.
Dr. H. D. Blackwelder started a mixed animal practice in 1971 and in 1984 divided the business and founded Statesville Bovine and Equine Clinic focusing exclusively on large animals. In 2001 his son Dr. Travis Blackwelder joined the practice where they now primarily focus on equine medicine and lameness while still providing bovine care to long standing clients.
The hospital is located in Statesville, NC, conveniently located near the the intersections of I-77 and I-40. Our equine hospital is equipped for both outpatient and hospitalized cases.
Many of our clients haul in from all areas of North Carolina, northern South Carolina and Southern Virginia. We also have ambulatory veterinary services which covers the Iredell county and Lake Norman area and some areas of Mecklenburg, Rowan, Davie, Catawba and Alexander Counties.
We provide full health services to our equine patients with special interest in equine lameness, pre-purchase exams and equine reproduction. Our hospital is equipped with the latest technology including digital radiology, digital ultrasound, digital endoscopy, IRAP and PRP therapies, in-house laboratory, shockwave therapy, and power dentistry .
These technologies and our dedicated doctors help us provide our patients with the highest standard of care and form a lasting client patient relationship.
